Dr. Bart Dingenen completed his PhD (September 2015) at KU Leuven, Belgium, which was focused on the relation between quasi-static and dynamic postural control and knee and ankle injuries. He published a series of articles in international peer-reviewed medical journals during recent years, and has been speaker at several national and international conferences. To translate the newest findings of his research towards clinical practice, he gave multiple lectures and workshops for physical therapists, athletic trainers and medical doctors. Currently, Bart is working as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at Hasselt University, Belgium. His research is focused on the exploration movement-related impairments in relation to running-related injuries, and the optimization of return to sport decision-making after anterior cruciate ligament injuries. In addition, he works clinically as a physical therapist at the private practice Motion to Balance, Genk, Belgium, where he is mainly consulted in relation to lower extremity injury rehabilitation and prevention. In 2015, he received the American College of Sports Medicine Biomechanics Interest Group Student Research Award. In February 2018, he won the most popular poster award at the 14th Scandinavian Congress of Medicine & Science in Sports.
