Rugby Strength Programming Philosophy by Keir Wenham-Flatt [Webinar Replay]

The webinar this month will be presented by Keir Wenham-Flatt. Keir is a rugby strength and conditioning specialist who has worked with professional teams on 4 different continents. He decided to share his remarkable video presentation with us and I would like to thank him for that as well as for being a Complementary Training member.

In the video below Keir outlines his philosophy of strength/power training for rugby using ideas from Kelvin Giles and Anatoly Bondarchuk. He also outlined four phases of progression and how they affect the programming of jumps, plyos, medball throws, traditional power and strength exercises.

It is very interesting how Keir utilize readiness measurements and how the level of it affects his daily plan.

Definitely, a must-watch for strength and conditioning coaches working in team sports!
