Long-term Athlete Development Model – Excellent video by José Afonso

I am not sure who posted it, but this is EXCELLENT critique of not only LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) plans, but rigid plans in general including periodization (I really love his quote that “periodization is nothing more than astrology”). We tend to think in “buckets”, and after recently reading Antidote by Oliver Burkeman, it might be because of our inherent fear of uncertainty and chaos. Great book to read as well. Reading more books on Psychology, Philosophy, Analytics help us gain new perspectives on the same problems and help to overcome “einstellung” (please watch this great free course if you are wondering what this is)

Not sure I agree with everything said, but interesting indeed. Anyway, it is important the remember the wise words:
